It's TIME!!! Are you ready for some fun? Today is our Everyday Storyteller blog hop, each of the   contributors are sharing some bonus tips, and more...
Here is a little bit of a bigger Peek at some of the project bits from my article in the book. There is Lots of Color, and TONS of tips for how I tell each of my life stories loaded with Heart. I can promise you at least 13 ideas from my article alone, I can't wait to see how many more the other ladies will be sharing too!

I think for such an occasion a little bit of extra fun is in order, sooooo here is what we're gonna do...  Leave me a comment telling me YOUR favorite way to capture the heart in your life's stories, by   11:59 pm Central and I will be GIVING AWAY a copy of the book to one lucky storyteller before it is available to the public!

Have you ever thought of your kitchen as a Great place for sourcing out your next storytelling tidbits? You'd be surprised how many treasures the heart of the home holds just waiting for you to discover! To make a great little page like this one, simply grab some extra non-slip mat from lining your cupboards, and some leftover sticky drawer liner. All you have to do is trace out a shape you love, like this bird, get creative stitching it in place, and add a photo or some journaling strips of your own! Voila, no cost cuteness!!!

I like to let my emotions shine through in my journaling. For me, THAT's when the journaling is done!

What a fabulous out-of-the-box idea. :) Love your stuff and can't wait to see more in the book.

I try to capture the heart in life's stories by catching as many of the small details as possible. Everyone can remember a big event, but little details are often overlooked, and they are sometimes the element that makes the story special.

OH I would love to be able to dig into this book it looks like it's just what I need! Thanks for the chance.

Love that idea, so cool and creative. I try to capture the heart in life's stories through my pictures. Pictures can tell a lot. Trying different angles, focusing on the details of the moment through one picture and then use another picture of the entire scene. Then summing everything up in my journaling.

I am your biggest fan - no lie! Thanks for all the ways you inspire me!

i try to capture the little moments, the small details that make me smile.

Right now the key for me is to recognize when I'm inspired and find time at that moment to get at least the basics of my inpiration out... I can refine it later but whether its the journaling or the sketch whatever it may be. Thanks for the opportunity to win the book it looks really interesting.

It depends on the layout...some layouts the journaling is all you need to see why I scrapped that moment...others it might be the photo. Either way...I love them all! Thanks for the chance to win!

Thank you for the tip, I never thought of my kitchen that way hihi

I try to capture the heart in life's stories through my DD. Taking pictures of what she does and write down every little thing she says! Always use that in my journaling on my pages :)

Thanks for a chance!!

Love your idea!!! Amazing!

To capture the heart, I like to scrap quotes of my loved ones. It captures the essence of them, and it shows how important they are to me because I listen and they words are important to me.

Keeping a blog when my babies were really young has been a great source for scrapping later. Write things down however you can when you're "in the moment" so you can scrap them when you have time, even if it's a few years later!

I love to lay photos out for a few days, and let my thoughts and ideas "simmer". Sometimes I come up with the best title or journaling ideas when I'm laying in bed or doing something other than working on the layout!

Awww your peek looks soo amazing and inspirational!!! I really love your style and pages!!! wow!!
I can't tell what my favourite way of scrapping everyday stories is. I like to try different things and it always depends on my recent mood how and what I scrap. Sometimes I like to use many, many photos on a page and the other time I like to scrap without a photo and focus instead on elements and especially brushes. Love to work with them :)
Thank you very much for the chance to win and can't wait to read the other tipps you will share!!

I'm all about the journaling. Although the photo is important too. I took a picture of my son's foot paired up to mine to show how he's growing. The picture looks great and the journaling will add the heart.

Do or do not - there is no try - as YODA says - if I start to write them I'm good - I just need to DO IT!

C.G. said...

Just be real. Don't think. Don't worry about what people will think when they see it. Some pages are meant to be private, some are meant to be public, but ALL should be real! That's why I scrap ... it's where I pour my heart.

Amy K said...

I love color. Can't wait to see.

I love to write, so the detailed journaling is how I tell our stories with heart.

Thanks for the chance to win.

I used to not journal at all but I find that little snips of info or some random appropriate wordart really does the trick. Sometimes I don't journal at all and just keep it in the title. Works best for me to keep it simple

It is the everyday, ordinary glimpses into our lives that is the heart of scrapping. I strive to add
those little pieces and capture real life in a real way. Thanks for this chance!

Katie said...

I think the best way to add heart to your scrapbooks is to make sure you are included too. Your own life, interests, passions, handwriting, and photos should be represented. For awhile, since having kids it seemed like all my pages were about them. But then I realized a major part of their story was missing, me! Years from now I know they will treasure getting to know more about me from my pages. I know this, because I love learning about my mom when she was younger and her insights on life. It is good to remember your mom wasn't always mom!

Kendra F. said...

My best way to capture the heart of the story is to think about the story as I lay in bed before going to sleep, it is quiet and peaceful and my mind is free to think.

joelsgirl said...

Capturing the way my kids cock their heads or getting their smile just right, when I can see the boys that make me woozy shining through in a photo makes me fele like i've captured the heart of the story.

I don't scrapbook what I think people want to see, I scrapbook what amuses me. The things I want to remember.

Meagan Whelan said...

Hiiii! Gorgeous, gorgeous book :) so artistically creative. I try my best to capture the heart of all the little everyday moments by taking all the pictures when most people put the camera down, sometimes I still pose things but only for artsy pics. I've really realized how fast time goes by since having my first baby so I try my best to think of the things that I wish I had pictures to reminisce on from my childhood and take those. I want all my pictures to someday be close to my daughters heart as well :-)
Cheers!

My favorite way to capture the heart in my storytelling is to capture the heart of my kids (my usual subjects :)) - I love to tell the little, adorable, everyday stories, and capture photos of their goofy, cute, funny expressions. So much personality! They are my heart!!

Kirsten said...

When I journal I just try to write as if I were talking. It's easier for me to tell the story. And can I just add that I love the happy colors I that little peek!

Shelly said...

Just telling the story in my own way.

KilkennyVFX said...

I try to capture the heart by taking photos of the details, like my son's dirty little fingernails holding a dandelion after digging in the dirt, playing with a box of fishing worms, or my puppy's paw which is half black and half pink.

Traci said...

Journaling is so important. It helps tell the story the photos cannot and when I have little bits and pieces of goodness to add to the layout that I want to tuck away I love to make little envelopes out of wax paper that I have put through the sewing machine.

Unknown said...

The sneak peeks that I have seen and read about so far about this book have been fascinating…I would love to have my own copy!! |My journaling has to come from the heart...I really try to put down what I really think!

I like to record the cute things my family says. I love looking back on my scrapbooks and seeing the photos of my littles, and reading what they used to say, and transporting right back to those moments through the memories!!!

Thanks for the chance to win a copy of this neat book. I love photos and more photos, but I think without the journaling, the storytelling, much is lost. Conversations, details, mooods -- all are important to me.
